Consider this ancient piece of wisdom for a moment. How does it apply to your life? When you consider reaping and sowing – the planting of seeds and the subsequent harvest of a crop – do you think something positive?
Quite honestly this little saying has always carried with it a tinge of negativity for me. I always think of it in conjunction with some negative event, in which I must consider what I did to create the series of events in the first place.
Today I want to invite you to take this quip of reaping/sowing and consider how it can be spun in your world for positive results. What seeds can you be planting today that will yield a harvest of good things in your life?
If, however, your thoughts and actions are centered on the authentic betterment of others and the relentless pursuit to care for and love those around you, you will yield something entirely different.
I know I have written blogs on similar subjects several times this past year. Why? Because the voice out there in our modern world is so loud and so pervasive, that if we are not careful, we will listen and plant crops of entitlement that in turn render vast fields of anxiety and eventual aloneness.
Turn against what the world says will bring you health, wealth and happiness and instead pick up and plant seeds that grow others. If this sounds silly or in any other way unattainable then I beg you to consider what seeds you have in your hands. We must distinguish between good and bad seeds. May your harvests be plentiful.
